Blackpool school pupils 'relax, reflect and recharge' with new sensory room

Pupils at Boundary Primary School can now enjoy a new sensory room to help them settle back in.

Pupils at Cedar, Boundary Primary School's new provision for children with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), have been able to enjoy a new sensory room.

Cedar already benefits from self-contained rooms and an outdoor learning area but the sensory room is a quiet, peaceful space for pupils who use it.

The return to school can be difficult for some pupils and especially so for those with additional needs.

But Boundary pupils can 'relax, reflect and recharge' by making use of the room's soft seating, bubble tube, fibre optic lights, a water wheel, relaxing music, and an infinity light mirror.

"All of these elements complement each other in providing a tranquil atmosphere for pupils to enjoy and remove themselves from the outside world," the school said.

"We cannot wait to see the huge positive impacts that our new sensory room will have on the pupils."
