Nuala had taken to Facebook to announce: “The sun is setting.....It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce that The Wine Shed will close its doors for the last time and go up for sale on 30th August.

“There are complicated circumstances which have led to me making this very difficult decision.

“I really want to take this opportunity to thank every single customer who has bought a bottle of wine to take home, or joined us for drinks in the shed over the last three years. We have the most amazing customers, many of whom we now class as friends and we will miss you dearly.”

She also had praise for her staff whom she described as an “amazing team” who had been “unwavering in their support and hard work.”

Nuala continued: “In better news, we do intend to take The Wine Shed fully online so you can still get your hands on our superb collection of rare and special wines, delivered to your door.

“Love, health and happiness to you all.”

The Wine Shed opened in April 2017 following a full refurbishment of the upmarket shed.

Nuala left a career as a Compliance Director in Finance to pursue her passion for wine.

A Wine School was created in June 2018 offering courses to extend wine knowledge.

The Wine Shed is one of several businesses at Stydd Gardens.
