The bollard, which was removed in the summer, is still proving a challenge for some drivers.

The main bollard was whisked away by the Lancashire County Council after a number of drivers struggled to navigate around it.

All that remains of the once proud bollard is the concrete base, but this also has stopped a number of vehicles in their tracks.

Just last month a Volkswagen Polo ploughed into the base and had to be recovered.

The bollard has become a Preston folk institution, boasting its own unofficial Twitter account followed by thousands of people.
