The new drive-thru, situated in Morrisons car park in Mariners Way, will open for orders "to go" from 6am.
As well as ordering at the drive-thru, customers can also order takeaway coffee from inside, but won't be able to sit down due to lockdown restrictions.
Its normal opening hours will be from 6am until 10pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The new coffee shop has created 15 new jobs and its manager Steve Whetton said staff have been trained in the latest coronavirus safety guidance.
He said: “We are excited to open our new store in Preston and becoming a part of the local community.
"The team are closely following the latest guidance from both the government and health authorities to keep everyone safe."
In accordance with the latest government guidance, the store will be ‘to-go’ only. While seating is not available for use inside our store, customers can still order for takeaway.
Starbucks added that customers can also have their orders delivered straight to their door via the Uber Eats app.
