VOTE: Where is the best pizza place in Preston and South Ribble?

Vote here for the best places serving this mouth-watering Italian dish, which is so well loved that 45% of British people said it is their top takeaway choice, according to a survey of 2,000 adults in the UK, commissioned by PerfectHome.

We have compiled a list of seven venues nominated by local Facebook users or earning the highest ratings on Trip Advisor.

The vote is being help to mark National Pizza Day on Sunday and celebrate Britain's love of the dish.

But perhaps Americans love it even more. A 2011 ruling by the US Congress declared there is enough tomato paste in pizza sauce to include the dish in school lunch programs as one of children's five-a-day.

Voting ends on Saturday at 4pm.
