UPDATE: Traffic lights still out at major Preston junction

And drivers are still reporting road chaos after a set of traffic lights stopped working on a major route through Preston.

The lights at the junction of Blackpool Road and Garstang Road have been out since before 8am yesterday morning.

Electricity North West said a fault to an underground cable has affected 33 properties and the traffic lights at the junction of Blackpool Road and the A6.

A spokesman said yesterday that engineers went to the scene and were working to connect a temporary generator to restore power.
