Sudden temporary closure of popular Penwortham restaurant

Diners are being warned that a popular Italian restaurant has closed suddenly.

A notice has been put on the door of Salvatore's in Liverpool Road, Penwortham, to say that it will be closed until next weekend.

A post has also been made on the restaurant's Facebook page. It reads: "Hi everyone.

"We are currently closed until next weekend. There is a notice on the door and all bookings made during this time are cancelled.

"Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks for your understanding.

"The team at Salvatore's."

The family-run Italian started as a small pizza takeaway in 1991. It won the Lancashire Post's Best Italian Restaurant 2017 award, as voted for by readers
