Shoppers queue for hours for new Aldi store

KEEN shoppers queued for hours in the rain to be among the first in to the new Aldi store in Buckshaw Village.

The first 100 shoppers in the queue were rewarded with ‘golden tickets’ which each contained a prize.

Prizes included an HD TV, £100 and £50 hampers and bags of Aldi shopping.

The store was offocially opened yesterday by Team GB Taekwondo star Bianca Walkden, who cut the ribbon along with 11-year-old Alex Harrison, who was representing Buckshaw Village scouts.

The local scout group will be receiving £200 from Aldi as part of the store’s community partnership.
