Record results for Lancashire housebuilder

Lancashire building projects have been hailed as crucial to a housebuilder's record finanical result. Redrow Homes reported turnover in excess of £1.38bn, the housebuilder's Lancashire division is also marking a productive year of growth.

In the year ending June 30, 2016, Redrow’s Chorley based operation, one of 13 operating divisions in England and Wales, completed 522 new homes, up 9 per cent on 2015, across its developments from Lancaster in the north down to Liverpool and Manchester and from Fleetwood on the west coast across to Oldham.

The regional company bought six new sites and added more than 500 plots to the land owned with planning land bank which, once complete, will have a total sales value in excess of £117m, while creating dozens of new jobs and bringing a host of other economic benefits to local communities.

During the year, Redrow Homes Lancashire launched new developments at five locations. In the current financial year, the Lancashire division expects to increase the number of homes it builds to around 650 and to launch a further four new developments in Poulton; West Derby, Liverpool; Ellenbrook, Greater Manchester; and Buckshaw Village, Chorley as it continues its rapid growth.

Redrow’s Lancashire division directly employs 188 staff (up from 147 the previous year) – of which 19 are trainees and 18 are trade apprentices – while providing work for dozens of subcontractors across its various building sites.
