The theatre has been closed since May last year but is being used as a filming location

Camera crews were spotted recording at the venue, alongside a catering van on Monday, November 2.

The Guild Hall, now owned by the council since 2019, is currently closed to the public but has been picked out by filmmakers.

It is believed that the project will be a black comedy, including stars that have appeared in the likes of The Game of Thrones, however, this is yet to be confirmed.

Preston Council have announced that they are helping the production company with their work at the theatre.

A spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “We are working with a production company who have chosen the Guild Hall as a filming location for their project and are helping facilitate their work on site. We’re unable to provide any further information at this time.

Preston City Council stepped in to take on the building and venue back in June 2019 after the previous owner Simon Rigby was stripped of his ownership.

Preston Guild Hall Limited went into administration in early June - cancelling of dozens of planned shows and events and has not been used since.
