Paul Addison, 47, has been making pies for the past 15 years and last month took the plunge and opened his own shop on Fishergate Hill.

And being keen with his flavours and fillings, he has now created a pie filled with Christmas dinner favourites, including Brussels sprouts.

He said: "I have been creating my own pies for years and make different flavours every year. I have put a bit of everything from a traditional Christmas dinner into the pie.

"Everybody loves a Christmas dinner so that is why I came up with the idea. It has been getting brilliant responses from my returning customers and spreads the festive spirit."

The new Christmas dinner pie is filled with turkey, mint, stuffing, smoked bacon, sausage, vegetables, Brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce.

After being well known for his work at Pennington's bakery, on Chorley Road for the past 12 years, the Covid-19 pandemic gave him the determination he needed to take the leap and open his own bakery.

He still offers British favourites, from meat and potato, butter pies, and Lancashire hotpot, as well as his new festive concoction.

Paul said: "I am selling the Christmas pie throughout December and up to the big day. My shop is doing really well, people are coming in more often and I am now getting a lot of repeat customers who have excellent reviews.

"People have been very interested in the Christmas pie. They ask me what is in it and I just tell them, a whole Christmas dinner.

"In the past, I have come up with different flavours such as cheeseburger pies and donner kebab pies. I plan to offer a range in my new shop because I am very creative.
