The Capitol Centre Retail Park in Walton-le-Dale – home to the likes of Boots, Carphone Warehouse, Vue Cinema, and Frankie and Benny’s – received £2 million from construction giants Seddon.

The deal has seen major external work take place at the popular Vue Cinema complex to give the building a contemporary and modern look.

As well as Vue, the units housing Furniture Village, Fabb Sofas and Tapi Carpets have been stripped out and re-developed prior to the new retail tenants moving in.

All of the works have been completed in close partnership with Royal London’s external project manager’s RLB.

Development Project Manager at Royal London Asset Management, Mark Carroll, said: “The construction of the new entrance at the Vue Cinema complex is a particularly important addition to the Capitol Centre retail park.

“We were especially pleased that this project was completed without us having to close the park and cinema to members of the public.”

Business unit director at Seddon, John Shannon, said: “The Vue Cinema entrance redevelopment was a particularly complex project as the building remained open to visitors throughout, but by working closely with all the project partners we were able to deliver it safely, on time and in budget.”

The projects are being delivered in conjunction with architects, Harris Partnership and structural engineers, Clancy’s.
