Malaysian chef opens new takeaway stall at Preston Markets

A new stall serving authentic Malaysian dishes is coming to Preston Markets this weekend.

The new food stall run by Anita Tahir-Parker, a professional chef from Johor Bahru, Malaysia, will open on Saturday (November 28) opposite Adrian Livesey’s Butchers.

Lapar Malaysian Cuisine has relocated from Walker Street to the Markets where Anita will continue serving her Malay dishes for take away.

Anita said she previously cooked professionally in Vietnam, Cambodia and Sweden, before bringing her talent and traditional recipes to Lancashire.

Among the strong Southeast Asian flavours prepared fresh each day, will be Anita's popular Rendang (Malaysian dry curry), chicken wings and spring rolls, as well as a choice of vegan dishes.

She hopes her new prime location at Preston Markets will introduce her Malay food to even more of the city's foodies.

"I am so excited to be able to bring my business to Preston Markets and I'm looking forward to opening on November 28," said Anita.

"I specialise in delicious Malay food to take away and focus on providing the best quality, fresh authentic Malaysian food.

"I look forward to welcoming the people of Preston to my new stall and any purchase made on the 28th & 30th November over £5 will get a free portion of mini vegetable spring rolls to say thank you for shopping local and supporting me in my new location."

Lapar Malaysian Cuisine will open for takeaway at Preston Markets on Saturday (November 28) from 10am until 4pm. It will continue trading Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, until further notice.

City Coun Robert Boswell, said: "I am delighted to welcome yet another new trader to Preston Markets. Lapar Malysian Cuisine brings a brand new type of food to the Market Hall, increasing the already great array of businesses on offer at the Markets.
