Local Facebook groups have been rife with speculation that a number of staff had recently tested positive for the virus at the store off Poulton Street.

One online post yesterday (Friday, November 20) led to more than 150 comments and has provoked considerable concern among some local shoppers.

This morning, the Lancashire Post has approached Morrisons' head office for clarification on the reports.
