Jobs created as growing call centre expands in city
A growing call centre in Preston is about to open a second site in the city.
Hinduja Global Solutions Limited (HGS) is opening a new site at Winckley House in Winckley Square.
The firm’s contact centre at Tulketh Mill employs more than 400 people and handles a number of high-profile contracts including TalkTalk.
Now the firm it set to offer 368 temporary jobs as its workload grows and it moves to its second site .
HGS has been working very closely with the Business Growth and Innovation team at Lancashire County Council.
The firm said: “Not only have they helped us secure a second site in Preston but they have also linked in with the Job Centre and local education establishments including UCLAN to support our growth. Over the summer we will be creating 368 temporary roles in the area that will appeal to students, unemployed and those looking for their next step into employment.”
HGS is hosting an open day on Saturday between 10am and 2pm at Winckley House to inform the local community of its growth plans and giv them the opportunity to join the business.
In November HGS secured a three-year engagement with further option to extend with the Student Loans Company to provide contact centre support for students pursuing their higher education goals.
The agreement contributes to the recent announcement of the creation of over 500 jobs at HGS’ award-winning customer experience centres in Preston and Selkirk in the Scottish borders.
HGS has accelerated an ongoing large-scale recruitment campaign to attract local candidates looking for roles in the customer service industry. HGS was asked to take over the TalkTalk contact in Preston several years ago.
Since then its base at Tulketh Mill has expanded and the centre has since been voted the world’s Best Large Contact Centre ona nuber of occasions.
