Around 25 sales and support staff will move to its new city centre headquarters.

The company said the move would provide a “more vibrant working environment” for staff.

But Lancashire Post readers were sad the station was leaving the city:

"Are there any local radio stations anymore. They all seem to be this generic large company stations. Not as good as the old local ones."

"Will it still be focused on Lancashire/Preston area? It's been a 'local station for 30 odd years. If it's only for the Manchester area, sorry I'll be turning off...it says local for a reason. This is what happens when big media companies take over local project's...Also, I wonder what Red Rose Radio founder Paul Jordan makes of this? Isn't he the MD?"

Paul Stables

"Worked on the church when they first made it a radio station did all the scaffolding inside and out shame to see it go else where won't be part of Preston anymore."

"I was there in 1991 with Psychic James Byrne on The Tony Newman late night chat show. This was followed by Derek Acorah etc. Red Rose under the management of John Myers was the very first commercial station to feature live On Air psychic Readings, we made the national press. Sad News this indeed."

John G Sutton

"Stopped listening to it when Scottie Mc Clue left. Radio Lancashire a far better station. Local news and local presenters."

Kevin Naylor

"Oh no I am gutted . I deliver round Preston and pass it about 20/30 times a day it won’t be the same knowing they aren't there xxx. "

June Snape
