It's a global get-together for Lancashire IT team

As directed by the government under the coronavirus lockdown, Fylde-based Smart IT’s employees are working from home.

The Odoo ERP and managed services provider based at the Progress Business Park in Kirkham, has the technology to ensure customer services and work productivity don’t suffer during this unprecedented period, but what about staff morale?

With Microsoft Teams the staff keep in touch with each other and clients and come 5.30pm on a Friday they unwind after the working week, have a chat with their colleagues and toast the weekend ahead.

The Virtual After Work Drinks is Angela Lawson’s brainchild.

She said: “We want to keep morale up and anxiety levels down and this is one of the things we’ve introduced. We’re lucky that we use the unified communications technology day in day out, so having a digital drink together is easy. Next week we may introduce a quiz, bingo or karaoke!”

All offices across the UK and Smart IT’s Vancouver operation all join in. “Our Vancouver operation joins us for morning tea,” added Angela.
