Vincents Solicitors of Garstang have won Trinity Hospice a £1,185 grant from the Yorkshire Building Society to buy a valuable piece of medical equipment.

The money will buy a syringe driver that can be used for patients in the Garstang and Over Wyre area, where Trinity has an arrangement with St John’s Hospice in Lancaster to visit patients who are living closer to Trinity.

Janet Atkins, Trinity’s corporate partnerships manager said: “Syringe drivers administer medication continually over a 24 hour period and are a vital item of equipment to ensure patient comfort .

"But these are expensive; and as more patients enter our service so the demand for syringe drivers increases. We really appreciate this gift, which will help our nurses provide excellent palliative care.”
