Fun Preston firm enjoying a Christmas rush

Preston-based Sunshine Events, has seen its Christmas bookings rocket by 29 per cent compared to results from 2017.

Bosses say they are having a festive rush, with party organisers looking to book outlandish experiences for their events.

Sunshine Events’ Sunny Sandwell said: “We’ve had a huge rise in bookings this year, particularly from the corporate market, who are looking to reward staff with major festive bashes, that aren’t just a meal and a knees up.”

According to Sunny, party organisers are looking at more experience based events or even teamworking activities for Christmas.

She said: “Businesses want to create memorable events at their Christmas parties and we are seeing more bookings for things that offer an experiential wow factor, from Virtual Reality machines to Snowboard Simulators, to inflatable Assault Courses and giant Snow Globes, where guests can get inside and have an experience of a white Christmas.

"Christmas parties should be fun and should promote people to mingle and one of the best ways is offering experiences and activities that allow them to do just that.”

The firm is working on a number of festive parties this year including creating special Santa areas at Manchester Airport, working with international pharmaceutical brand Johnson & Johnson to create a huge Christmas party for children and supplying a Christmas fun fair, complete with festive stalls and games for firm Tuv Sud Nuclear Technologies.

Some things which are in demand which they weren’t expecting, include 70s nostalgia products, such as their Atari Pong tables, often thought of as the first ever computer game.
