FOOD HYGIENE RATINGS: How did every business in South Ribble fare?
More than 440 business scored the recommended three stars or more with most gaining the full five stars, meaning their hygiene was very good.

However 10 places will be getting regular visits from council inspectors after receiving one star and being told they need major improvements. Some of these businesses include popular wedding venue Farington Lodge Hotel, on Stansfield Lane, Slice of Sicily, on Priory Lane, and international chain Subway, in Samlesbury.

Hide AdNine other businesses were also told to improve after being rated at two stars.
However, a high percentage of places in South Ribble were given five stars by inspectors and county councillor for the Bamber Bridge and Walton-le-Dale, David Watts said he’s not surprised by the high ratings.
“We have lots of things in place to make sure businesses are doing what they’re supposed to, so I’m not shocked by the highest percentage of good ratings,” he said. “Businesses want to keep their licenses and so these scores are just what I expected.”
Some of the high scorers in the borough were The Black Bull, in Penwortham, Clough House Rest Home, in Leyland, and Poplar Fish Bar in Bamber Bridge.
