Fishergate Bollard emerges as Preston's favourite place to be immortalised in new city Monopoly board
It is perhaps the world’s most famous bollard - even though it’s future is very much in doubt.
Now the Fishergate bollard is set to be immortlised with in the soon-to-be released Preston version of the beloved board game, Monopoly.
“This famous bollard could be the perfect fit for Old Kent Road,” comments George Shrimpton, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK. “But voting is still live so we shall wait and see till after polls have closed.”
The game will be themed in sets: from tourism to heritage, culture to shopping, hotels to sport, education to business, charity to travel – and lots more.
The Chance and Community Chest cards are being largely themed too. If the bollard is knocked off the Old Kent Road square it could still feature as a card, maybe fining players for skirting with the bollard or sent go back three spaces for hitting it.
“Absolutely everything is still up for grabs,” added Mr Shrimpton.
“Please do keep them coming. So far the bollard has attracted the most votes followed by The Harris Museum, Deepdale, the red phone boxes in the city centre and the docks.
Polling closes in two weeks time. Votes for Preston landmarks and cards to feature in the game via these two ways: 1. By email to: [email protected] . 2 By good old fashioned post to: Preston Monopoly, Winning Moves UK, 7 Praed Street, London W2 1NJ.
