Sweet Female Attitude began in 1999 as a collaboration between three songwriters including lead vocalist Leanne Brown who has fronted the group since then.

Best known for their worldwide hit “Flowers” the group made a name for themselves following a white label release across the London music scene before being picked up and signed by Warner Music.

The anthem went on to sell hundreds of thousands of copies, peaking at number 2 in the UK charts and landed Sweet Female Attitude a Brit award nomination.

More recent releases of “Flowers” by Jamie Duggan and Sam Divine have renewed the popularity of their dancefloor filler with Krept & Konan also sampling the song.

Route 94 will also be performing a live set. Since his worldwide anthem “My Love” with Jess Glynne he has had a string of releases on renowned labels like ‘Defected’, ‘Crosstown Rebels’ and set alight ‘Hot Creations’ with the enormous ‘House & Pressure’ EP where he spent a number of weeks at the top of the worldwide Beatport chart with one of the underground anthems of the year.

The ticketed event, which takes place from 6.30pm-11.30pm on Preston’s Flag Market, returns for its fifth anniversary with organisers promising some ‘added extras’ on the night.

Stacey Penney chairman of Preston At Night said: “Prestfest is a great event for the city, each year it grows in size and popularity and has gained a reputation as one of Preston’s ‘must attend’ events.

“This year’s event promises to be even better with a brilliant line -up of DJ’s and performers, enhanced production and bigger bars!”

Mark Whittle of Preston BID said: “The feedback from last year’s event was overwhelming. We want to make sure we deliver another great event for the city this year, and for businesses and residents too”.

Leading up to the evening celebrations “Prestfest - For Families” takes place from noon to 4.30pm on the same date.

The daytime event, which is not ticketed and is free to attend, will feature live performances from bands, musicians, and special guests.
