"What county is The Lake District and Blackburn in?": People's Google searches after new tier announcements
Almost all of England is facing tough new coronavirus rules next Thursday when the second national lockdown is lifted.
But Health Secretary Matt Hancock's announcement on Thursday had internet users turning to Google to check on the specific whereabouts of several local areas.
Google Trends showed a sharp increase in people asking what county The Lake District and Blackburn is in.
It's not clear why there's been such interest.
It could be local searches after it was announced Lancashire was to be placed in Tier 3 and Cumbria in Tier 2, or ones from further afield.
It is also unclear whether the questions are from people wishing to travel to the areas.
But to clear things up once and for all, Blackburn is of course a unitary authority area in Lancashire, and The Lake District is firmly in Cumbria, being the third largest county in England by area.
