McDonalds has reopened one of its Preston restaurants for takeaway and delivery
McDonalds has reopened one of its Preston restaurants for takeaway service and delivery with special measures in place to keep staff and customers safe.
The fast-food chain re-opened its Fulwood restaurant inside the Asda superstore off Eastway today (June 24).
It joins other McDonald's restaurants across Lancashire that have reopened today, including two in Blackpool and another in Blackburn.
It said no date has been set for the reopening of its other Lancashire restaurants for takeaway service at this stage.
The fast-food giant has already re-opened its drive-thrus at Deepdale Retail Park and Leyland earlier this month.
A spokesman for McDonalds said: "With restaurant teams adjusting to new procedures to enable safe working and social distancing, stores will look a little different and things may take a little longer.
"Restaurants will return with fewer people on each shift, serving a reduced menu over reduced hours from 11am to 10pm."
To help create a safe experience for everyone, McDonald’s has introduced a number of changes to its restaurants in order to help serve customers safely for takeaway.
The restaurants will have clear signposting and floor-markings to create a one-way system around for customers and delivery couriers, where possible.
A limited number of people will be allowed inside restaurants to help customers and employees adhere to social distancing.
Customers will be welcomed inside when a space becomes available and will be asked to sanitise their hands at cleaning stations that have been introduced in all restaurants.
Self-order screens will be sanitised at least every 30 minutes, but customers can also order via the My McDonald’s app and cashless payments are encouraged.
