While the well-known Fylde coast based radio stars and staff such as Andy Mitchell and Scott and Tatum, have left the station, the national owners have brought in well known ex-BBC stars to replace them with their new schedule.

But bosses said listeners will be served news bulletins carrying locally gathered stories, local traffic bulletins and local information to reflect the interests of each market for local advertisers.

“We are committed to retaining our local relationships and look forward to engaging closely with local listeners and businesses as we launch our work initiative.”

Greatest Hits Radio, which is part of the Bauer Media Audio group, is opening applications for its ‘Getting Lancashire Back to Work’ campaign to promote local job opportunities, both on-air and online.

From September onward, the station will feature the likes of Simon Mayo, Mark Goodier, Janice Long, Paul Gambaccini, and Pat Sharp playing upbeat classic hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s.
