The highly popular event, featuring live acts and celebrities, takes months of planning.

Preston BID tweeted this week: “Don’t flinch, but we’ve been working on Christmas activities today, including the Christmas Concert and Switch On.

“Save the date, Saturday November 24, Preston Flag Market!”

It is expected to start at around 5.30pm.

The BID is selecting its radio station partner this week, and is already in talks with artists, plus working with some key city brands coming on board as sponsors.

Last year the Christmas show featured Steve McFadden, aka soap hardman Phil Mitchell, and appearances including Union J, The Drifters’ Ray Lewis, and CBeebies’ Katy Ashworth.
