The company worked with the council to deliver Chorley's new digital hub Strawberry Park on Strawberry Fields.

The new £8.4m advanced digital office park is on Euxton Lane opposite Chorley Hospital.

And it bought the former 35-bedroom Pines Hotel, on the A6 Preston New Road, Clayton-le-Woods, which has now been transformed into a new Lidl store and retirement apartments.

Cheeky Monkeys Family Entertainment and Childcare Centre at Factory Lane have announced they are due to move to a new building on Strawberry Fields at the end of this year, offering parties, play, childcare and classes.

Until then they will be staying at Factory Lane,.

The business was forced to close temporarily as a result of the coronavirus crisis lockdown and is preparing to reopen when restrictions are lifted.

The proposed new homes plans were discussed by Whittle le Woods Parish Council at a meeting on Monday evening.

Chairman Tina Newall said afterwards: "The parish council's view was that we think one of the conditions is he (the developer) repairs the bridge and there's no access down Factory Lane for any of the construction traffic."

She said the road was busy with parents dropping off and picking up children at nearby Whittle-le-Woods CE Primary School, Preston Road.

In its application, Primrose has told Chorley Council's planning department that it wants to erect six new detached houses, constructed with rustic brick, with associated infrastructure after the demolition of industrial buildings at the site.

Primrose Holdings have been contacted for a comment.
