Finnley Morris was born at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Thursday, October 1 last year before being moved to Preston Royal Hospital‘s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

He was treated in the high dependency ward but died aged four days.

Coroner Alan Wilson held a short review at the town hall, in Talbot Square, on Monday, which was attended by Finnley’s dad Adam

and grandad Simon.

There were also representatives from Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital appearing via video links, as well as a solicitor representing Finnley’s family.

Mr Wilson said investigations are ongoing to interview “persons of interest” and said a number of doctors and midwifery staff would be quizzed and, if necessary, ordered to attend court to give evidence when the inquest resumes.

Mr Wilson adjourned the hearing until Wednesday,

July 21.
