Zara ready for the Lowry
Local children, including Lancaster teenager Zara Pinnington, are set to join professional dancers onstage in ballet LORENT’s ballet adaptation of Rapunzel at the Lowry in Salford this weekend, collaborating with some of the biggest creative talent in the arts.
Rapunzel, the classic fairytale familiar to all ages, has been re-developed by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, Professor of Contemporary Poetry at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The production also boasts music from Doctor Who composer and four-time BAFTA nominee Murray Gold; hand-crafted costumes inspired by themes of nature and fertility by BAFTA and Emmy award-winning Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton; Manchester-born actress Lesley Sharp narrates the story.
