Russell, about to celebrate his 47th birthday, has won four Classical Brit Awards and sold more than eight million records worldwide, and is also the first artiste to hold simultaneous number ones in the US and the UK.

Tickets for the Blackpool show cost from £25 to £85, and booking fees may apply. For more information and to book tickets visit www.blackpoollive.co.uk or call the Winter Gardens box office on 0844 856 1111.

Russell came to national attention in 1999, singing the national anthem at rugby league’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley, Barcelona at the last match of the Premiership season at Old Trafford, and a set of songs at the Champions League Final in Barcelona between Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
