On A Wing and a prayer at Castle Halloween bash

Horrors of all shapes and sizes will stalk Lancaster Castle this Halloween weekend when A Wing returns to the historic building.

UK indie psychedelic goth rockers The Horrors and Detroit techno DJ Carl Craig will take to the turntables at the castle for the second A-Wing event.

The Hallowe’en themed weekend (if you’re not dressed up, you’re not coming in) takes place on Friday October 31 (The Horrors), and Saturday November 1 (Carl Craig).

The Horrors, above, formed in Southend-on-Sea in 2005 and have enjoyed succes with a string of critically acclaimed albums, including the 2009 Mercury Prize nominated Primary Colours.

Their unique sound has been classified as garage rock, gothic rock, shoegaze and post-punk revival.

Carl Craig is a Detroit-based producer of techno, and is considered to be one of the most important names in the Detroit second generation of techno producers and DJs.

He has releaseda string of albums under various aliases, including BFC, Psyche, Paperclip People, 69, Designer Music and Innerzone Orchestra.

As Innerzone Orchestra, in 1992, he released perhaps his best-known track, Bug in The Bassbin, a track many regard as a key influence in the evolvutionof drum and bass.
