What a sound weekend
Thousands of people descended on the town’s first Chorley Live event, which has been hailed a huge success.
‘Brilliant!’, ‘I’ve never seen town so busy!’ and ‘Can we do this every week?’ said revellers, who enjoyed more than 150 live performances on Friday and Saturday night.

Initial estimates suggest as many as 4,000 people bought an entry wristband.
Coun Alistair Bradley, leader of Chorley Council, said: “Not only have businesses taking part said how much busier they were over the two nights, but it’s got people from across the region into Chorley for a brilliant night out.
“It’s brought a real community spirit back into the town centre and it shows what can be achieved when we get people working together to put something special on.”

Hide AdNigel Stewart, of the Creative Network and who has developed the ‘Live’ concept, said it was the biggest and most successful so far.
He said: “I was absolutely blown away by how well the event went and all the feedback we have had so far.
“The great thing about this type of event is that it is win, win for everyone.
“Some of the performers are just gobsmackingly amazing and it’s events like this that give people a platform to perform and gain confidence in their ability. I’m sure some of those that people have seen in Chorley this weekend will go on to be success stories.”
