Nelsons Wake is an occasional venture, for geographical reasons, with Chris and Siobhan Nelson from Southport joining up with Southampton-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Barry Wake.

Nelsons Wake are two Nelsons and a Wake, hence the lack of apostrophe! Friends of Folk last welcomed Nelsons Wake to an outstanding gig in the Preston Guild Hall complex and it was warmly welcomed by everyone in the audience.

Organiser Jim Minall said: “It’s taken some time to get a date when Chris, Siobhan and Barry could get back together in Lancashire, but the wait will be well worth it.”

The trio have recorded an excellent album ‘Ebb & Flow” and David Kidman from NetRhythms said: “The album is chock-full of true craftsmanship in the writing and partnered by responsive and abundantly sensitive musicianship.

“Just under half of the songs are sung by Siobhan, beautifully and expressively and with exemplary diction... ...a most attractive collection of classy and satisfying songs that richly deserve to be heard and sung more widely.”

The night starts at 8pm and to get tickets call Jim Minall on 07971 243809.
