After a fantastic show at The Continental in Broadgate last year star a spokesman for the venue said: “We just couldn’t resist bringing them back.”

In 1976, Godard formed Subway Sect with three other fans of the Sex Pistols at the suggestion of impressario Malcolm McLaren, who wanted another band for the line-up of the 100 Club Punk Festival.

Vic and the Subway Sect debuted alongside the Sex Pistols on a bill which included The Clash and The Damned. Straight away their garage sound and sense of melody set them apart from the usual din and yet, by the time their first album in 1978 ‘What’s The Matter Boy?’ was released, the line up had changed five times.

In the 1980s Vic got together with musicians whose talents allowed him to experiment with Jazz, Swing and Motown beats.

Vic has never stopped gigging and recorded and the ‘Five Year Tour’ he embarked upon last year continues in 2014 with gigs all over Europe – and Preston!

Support on Friday March 28, comes from Kill Pretty and Mistoa Poltsa. Tickets £10, available now from See Tickets, WeGotTickets & Skiddle. Call The Continental on 01772 499 425.
