Support will come from the Preston-based Susie Jones Band and Flutes & Co from the Lake District.

Hailed “the finest and most original singer-songwriter to have emerged from the British folk scene since Richard Thompson” by one national newspaper, Wood is a defiantly independent artist unafraid to speak his mind as a songwriter.

During his career, he had collaborated with the likes of Billy Bragg, Martin Carthy and Eliza Carthy, and has recently completed a 50-date tour with Joan Armatrading.

He has won many awards, including Folk Singer of the Year in 2009 and 2011 at the BBC 2 Folk Awards, also winning Song of the Year at the latter ceremony.

His latest album, None The Wiser, has been highly praised in the national press.

More Music will also be hosting a Folk Workshop Day earlier in the day at the Hothouse in Morecambe.
