Back in 2011, Southworth started writing a short piece about a train journey she’d experienced.

Working with Korova’s artistic director Sam Buist (whose recent direction of In a Land Much Like Ours, was nominated for best production and more at the Buxton Fringe festival), Southworth has developed a story about coming of age.

An initial performance was given at last year’s Preston Tringe Feastival.

Southworth has since developed the play as part of Korova’s Hatch programme, with mentoring from Rob Johnston, winner of the King’s Cross Award.

It will be performed by Preston-based actress Laura Hill-Leighs, who recently toured the North in productions of
Digging Deep and Extreme Withdrawal is Manifest.

Meanwhile, Internationally-acclaimed percussionist Joby Burgess comes to Live at LICA at Lancaster University next Thursday with 24 Lies Per Second.
