Two 2 at the Octagon Theatre, Bolton

Hot on the heels of 'Two' comes 'Two 2' '“ and, just as I was profuse in my praise of its predecessor, so I must salute the sequel.

Years have passed and the landlord and lady, played again by Colin Connor and Katy Cavanagh, are struggling to keep their pub alive – not to mention their marriage.

The landlord refuses to contemplate selling the pub and in a desperate bid to turn the tide comes up with a night that has absolutely everything – cheaper beer, cheaper food, karaoke, quiz and speed dating

As a result, we not only witness Colin and Katy playing a parade of different characters – as in “Two” – but also take advantage of the ample opportunity for audience participation.

It is truly a mixed bag and it is all delivered with panache as well as at a pace that must have been quite exhausting for the two actors.

I don’t want to give too much away so I will leave it at that but, suffice to say, that Colin and Katy must have found it tremendously satisfying – as, I am sure, you will.
