Preston Poets’ Society members have a busy few weeks coming up and so could you – their events are open to all.

On Thursday, September 19, the group’s monthly meeting considers poems with unusual titles. The meeting is at St George’s Church hall, Lune St, from 7.30pm.

Preston Arts Festival and the associated Tringe Festival brings four other events.

First is part of the Light Night at the city’s Mystery Tea House in Cannon Street, when there will be readings, music and tea from all over the world from 7.30pm.

The following night, PPS vice president Terry Quinn has organised an open mike eventfrom 7pm to 8pm at the Korova Arts Café in Charnley Street, Preston, which is open to beginners and published alike.

On Tuesday September 24, the poets join with young musicians from Penwortham Girls’ High School in a Poetry and Melody night from 7.30pm at Lune St Central Methodist Church.

Then on Friday September 27 PPS and Preston Recorded Music Society present a Celebration of Words and Music from 7.30pm at St George’s Church Hall, Lune St, Preston.
