Litfest starts with haunting storytelling and dazzling musicianship combined for a unique retelling of The Mabinogi, the oldest stories of Britain on Friday February 7 at 8pm. Tickets are £10/£8.

On Friday, March 14, Jane Routh will host a book launch for Falling into Place.

Jane will read from the book about a small area of land in the Forest of Bowland and joined by Cumbrian writer and photographer Ian Hill. This free event starts at 7.30pm. Booking is advisable.

Performance storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton will be merging myth, fairy tale and raucous Greek philosophy in Eros and Psyche on Friday, April 4.

The event starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £10/£8 concessions (for ages 18 and over).

Promoting the best of regional poetry will be April Poets on Thursday, April 10.

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £4/£2 on the door.

On Friday June 6, you can expect some intense storytelling in Mr Sandmann with Internationally renowned performer Ben Haggarty. Tickets cost £10/£8 concessions.

Litfest is also hosting an evening with Sixfold, reading poems based on Lancaster, the River Lune and the world beyond.

The event takes place on Friday, June 13 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £5/£3.

The Fairfield Association Flora Nature Reserve has also programmed a number of free events at the Storey.

Dr Fred Ayres, Chairman of Lancaster Bee-keepers will give a talk and pondering: ‘Does the Honey Bee Have a Future?’ Learn about the decline of honey bees on Thursday February 13 at 7.30pm.

The Nutritional Gap is a free talk by homeopathist, Dawn Keyse, on Monday, February 17 at 7.30pm.

If you want to know the difference between a Chardonnay and a Sauvignon Blanc or a Merlot and a Shiraz then the Introductory World of Wine eight-week course is for you.
