The Sleeping Beauty at The Lowry

Birmingham Royal Ballet returns to The Lowry in Salford next week, its home in the North West, when Lancastrian Yvette Knight will dance the role of Princess Aurora and The Lilac Fairy in Sir Peter Wright’s timeless production of The Sleeping Beauty.

She will be supported by a host of ballet dancers from across the region in a production that was first performed by Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet (now BRB) in 1984.

Considered by many to be one of the greatest classical ballets from Imperial Russia, it enjoyed its world premiere in 1890 in St Petersburg.
