Roadless trip around the city

Acclaimed playwright and campaigner Sarah Woods is joining forces with Live at LICA at Lancaster University and Artsadmin to bring her new show, The Roadless Trip, to five community venues and groups in Lancaster.

It is performed by Sarah and her teenage daughter Lil who ask audiences to positively imagine the future.

The pair mix film, performance and a touch of Saturday night game show in order to think about how we live now and how this will affect the future – including a demonstration of the UK financial system using only vegetables!

After the show, each member of the audience is invited to contribute their own thoughts, reactions and stories in The Roadless Trip film studio in the back of a converted ambulance.

These will be mixed into a final version of the show that will return to Live at LICA in the autumn.

Sharon Jackson, who is hosting the show at the Neuro Drop In Centre, says: “The Roadless Trip sounds like it will be groundbreaking and exciting… very much like the work we do at the centre.

“We invite the wider community, and especially family, friends and carers of those with neurological conditions, to share The Roadless Trip with us… we plan to make it a real occasion”.
