Examiners from LAMDA attended an exam session at Stagecoach Lancaster on March 7, when over 80 students, aged 6 to 17, took exams in Acting or Communication, just two weeks before their Saturday theatre school classes were put on hold due to lockdown.

The school received a 100% pass rate with merits and distinctions achieved across the board and shared the results with students at home via email.

Bev Voortman, Principal of Stagecoach Lancaster, said: “It is strange not to be able to give the results to the students in person, but we wanted to share the good news with them and we have received such lovely messages and photos from them sharing their joy and sense of achievement with us.

"It is nice to be able to share some good news at, what is, a strange time for many young people.

"Our lockdown goal is to ensure each student maintains their passion and self-confidence and finds a creative outlet in this unusual situation.

" We have been working hard to keep in touch and support our students and their families during lockdown with lots of free videos, songs and dances from our own fantastic team of teachers, as well as free bitesize tutorials via the brand new website www.stagecoachathome.com.

"We are also sharing lots of upbeat messages from our team via email and our social media platforms. We can’t wait to be back together and present the LAMDA certificates in person when our classes can resume.”
