Our Day Out

Our Day Out sees a group of deprived children take a coach ride with their teachers to Wales, with trouble even before they leave the school.

Written by Willy Russell, of Blood Brothers and Educating Rita fame, the show has a large cast of adults and children under the direction of Kate Burke, a former Youth Theatre director who has worked on shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and in London’s West End. Panto award-winners Laina Grimshaw-Brown and Steven Catterall star as Mr Briggs and the coach driver, with Karen Miller as sympathetic Mrs Kay. Alex Delaney and Nicola Stringfellow play young teachers Colin and Susan, in a relationship but the object of crushes from the children.
