Musical men of the sea are nautical but nice

​Kimber’s Men will be ‘Singing Up A Storm’ in Samlesbury War Memorial Hall on Saturday November22.

The Halifax-based group will entertain with their close harmonies, a cappella singing and nautical but nice humour, accompanied by a wide selection of instruments including guitar, banjo, bandolin and whistles.

The group recently appeared live on Channel 4’s ‘Sunday Brunch’ after being recommended to the show’s producers by the British Maritime Museum , who said they are ‘the best in the country’.

They have also featured in BBC2 and BBC4 television productions of ‘Sea Songs’ and currently have five CDs on release as well as a DVD featuring ‘Singing Up A Storm’ in concert.

The group’s ‘Ship Doctor’ Joe Stead said: “We are now well educated in the way of village hall concerts which we really enjoy doing because of the close proximity of the audience, which heightens the performance for both audience and performer alike.”

The Samlesbury show is part of Spot On Lancashire’s rural touring autumn season.
