Footlights’ Emma will be a big fan of Windermere

Lancaster Footlights will stage a new adaptatiion of Oscar Wilde’s classic play ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan’ at the Grand Theatre until Saturday.

New Footlights member Emma Nixon will take the lead at the St Leonardsgate theatre under director Marion Plowright.

Emma has acted professionally, including a leading role in an all-female Titus Andronicus, and won the Actor’s Prize for her year when she graduated with a first from LIPA (the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts) in 2012. She collected the prize from none other than Sir Paul McCartney.

Marion was, until recently, Head of the Arts Faculty at Ripley Academy, but has now retired from full-time teaching and now teaches part-time in the drama department at the school.

Performances are every night until Saturday from 7:30pm.
