EastEnder does Beautiful Thing at Lowry

Charlie Brooks, best known as Janine Butcher in EastEnders, leads a cast of familiar faces in Jonathan Harvey’s modern classic Beautiful Thing at the Lowry in Salford next week.

Written by Liverpool-born Jonathan Harvey, Beautiful Thing is an urban love story between two young men on an inner city housing estate.

Joining Brooks is Gerard McCarthy, best known for his role as Kris Fisher in Hollyoaks.

Harvey wrote Beautiful Thing when he was 24. It sold out its five-week run at the Bush Theatre in 1993, winning its author an Olivier Award nomination and the John Whiting Award. It runs from Monday to Saturday with Wednesday and Saturday matinees. Call 0843 208 6005 or www.thelowry.com
