Billy at the Pavilion and that’s no lie
Kitchen sink classic Billy Liar comes to Lowther Pavilion, courtesy of Fylde Coast Players next month.
Written by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, the play is about 19-year-old Billy Fisher who lives with his parents and grandmother in an industrial town in Northern England.
Set in 1960, in order to escape his dull life and boring job as an undertaker’s clerk, Billy retreats into a fantasy world, with hilarious results.
Billy is played by 19-year-old Richie Withers, right. Directed by Rosie Withers, other members of the cast are Vera Cummins, Andy Cooke, Heather Cartmell, Kieran O’Doherty, Ayse Akgol, Holly Sagar and Emily Cartmell.
Billy Liar is at Lowther Pavilion from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01253 794221 or online at www.lowtherpavilion.co.uk
