Aladdin, the family show that’s a family affair

Aladdin will be bringing a cave of wonders to the Grand Theatre in Lancaster this month.

The show is this year’s pantomime by Lancaster Footlights. Written by Tom Walker, the play was performed at the Grand in 2009 when it was directed by Tom’s wife Dorothy.

The couple’s daughter Anna choreographed the production, making the show very much a family affair.

This time it will again be directed by Dorothy, who will be working with Jean Hardy, the first time Jean will have directed for Footlights.

Amy-Jo Clough will be the choreographerof this panto.

There are other family connections among the cast.

The Dame will be played by Stuart Langhorn and the ‘baddie’, Abanazer, will be played by his son, Harry. Among other cast members there is also a mother and son combination and a grandmother and granddaughter combination.

The show will be performed on Friday, Saturday, Sundays from December 5-21 and from December 22-30, excluding Christmas Day.
