The band, who emerged from the 100 Club scene of 1976, made their debut alongside fellow iconoclasts like The Clash and The Sex Pistols.

Their original line up featured Goddard alongside Rob Symmons on guitar, Paul Myers on Bass and Paul Packham on drums.

Their show, at Preston’s New Continental, was also to have featured former Sex Pistol Paul Cook. But due to a leg injury, he has been forced to pull out of the gig.

But Subway Sect, still lead by Goddard, will now feature Mark Braby on drums, Kevin Younger on keyboards and guitar and Paul Myers on bass.

They play the South Meadow Lane pub with support from Super Fast Girlie Show and Manchester duo, The Bell Peppers. Tickets are £8 advance on 01772 499 425 or £10 on the door.
