Music fans who fancy getting their hands on discount tickets for this year’s Fylde Folk Festival at Fleetwood need to buy them soon.

The special price tickets are available until March 31.

At present, punters can buy the Early Saver weekend tickets for £70, instead of having to fork out £75 between April and June 30.

After that, the cost rises to £80.

There is also a deal on Saturday day tickets, available for £35 until the end of this month.

Festival director Alan Bell said: “It’s a saving of 12 per cent, which is good value.

“The tickets will entitle them to see over 130 events – if they can physically get to them all!”

The 42nd Fylde Folk Festival takes place over the weekend of August 29/30/31, in a number of Fleetwood venues, including the Marine Hall.

The list of performers reads like a who’s who in the world of folk music, featuring more than 200 singers, musicians and dancers.

Some highlights include exciting Scottish fusion band Shooglenifty, Scottish singer, actress, and former Generation Game star, Isla St Clair left with show host Larry Grayson, and BBC Best Duo winners, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman.

There is also a Polish group appearing for the first time, Poles Apart.
